Original story worlds and film projects

This page brings together my original narrative projects developed for film and screen-based work.

Each project begins as an independent story world and is shaped into a finished visual work or a clearly defined development stage.

Some projects are completed; others are currently in development and open to further expansion.

Petrushka Dreams

short film, 2025

Petrushka Dreams is an original short film inspired by folklore, childhood memory, and immortal Stravinsky's music, and created with AI-generated visuals. The project explores a dreamlike space where celebration, unease, and imagination overlap, relying on atmosphere, music and visual rhythm, as well as a conventional linear plot.

Synopsis
Will Pet’ka climb high enough to win Masha’s heart – or will his pride remain buried in the snow? Petrushka Dreams is a romance set in the heart of a Maslenitsa end of winter festival where tradition, courage, and young love collide beneath the falling snow.

Status

Completed short film.

Recognition
A dedicated behind-the-scenes documentary was recognised internationally and selected as a Top-11 finalist of Chroma Awards – a major AI filmmaking competition.

Brute Scandal in Art Brut

film trailer, based on original novel, 2024

Overview
Brute Scandal in Art Brut is a narrative project rooted in my original novel of the same name. The cinematic trailer created with AI visuals translates the literary story world into visual form, testing tone, characters, and atmosphere for screen adaptation.

Synopsis
Set within the art world, the story unfolds around an investigation shaped by obsession, deception, and the fragile boundary between authenticity and myth. The narrative combines elements of mystery with psychological and cultural tension.

Status
Cinematic trailer completed; further development possible.

Recognition
The trailer was shortlisted as a Top-4 finalist for offline screening at SAIFF – an international AI film festival.
The project’s making-of documentary received an honourable mention from the jury at Project Odyssey – a major AI filmmaking competition.
